Who can review a business on TelfordRanked and how we check reviews.
Who can review
You can review a business on TelfordRanked when you paid for the work yourself and can show the invoice for the job. Send the editor your review with a copy of the invoice, as a PDF or a photo. The invoice ties your words to a real job with that business.
Your own words, freely given
Write about your own experience: the job you asked for, how it went, and anything another Telford reader should check before booking. Nobody pays you for your review, and nobody offers you a discount or any other reward for it — not the business, and not us. You confirm this in the consent box when you send your review.
How we check
The editor matches your invoice to the business before your review is published, usually within five working days. Positive and negative reviews go through the same checks. Each published review carries an invoice-checked mark.
What is published, and what stays private
We publish your review text, your rating, the work done, the month it finished, and your first name with your last initial — for example, Sarah M. Your email address and your invoice stay with the editor. The invoice file is deleted 12 months after the decision.
How reviews appear
Reviews sit newest first on the business's page, and every published review stays there for readers to see. They count towards the business's overall assessment, alongside our own scoring, which our methodology describes in full.
If you doubt a review
If you believe a review did not come from a customer who paid for the work described, tell us through the contact page, naming the business and the review. We check it promptly: a review that did not come from a real customer is removed, and anything it affected is recalculated.
If you are the business
If the review is about your business and you want to reply, send your response through request a change. We print it alongside the review, labelled as your words.
Removing your review
If you left a review and later want it taken down, or want your invoice deleted sooner, ask us through the contact page and we will remove it.
