Privacy notice
How TelfordRanked handles form messages, provider information, cookies and your data rights.
The short version
We collect as little as possible, keep it for twelve months, and never sell it or use it for marketing. This notice explains what we hold, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.
Messages you send us
Our two forms — contact and request a change — collect your name, your email address, and what you write, plus the details of any change request (provider, field, proposed value, evidence link, your role). We use these to read and answer your message and, for change requests, to check the provider record — our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running an accurate, accountable rankings site, and your consent where you choose to send optional material. We keep form submissions for twelve months, then delete them.
Both forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks you are human. We store no raw IP addresses: rate limiting uses a one-way hash of the address, which cannot be turned back into it.
Provider information on public pages
Our rankings show public business information: trading names, contact details the business itself publishes, company records from Companies House, accreditation status from trade registers, and attributed ratings from review platforms with source, scale and date. The sources are listed on each page, and the correction route is request a change. We do not publish home addresses of service-area businesses, officer personal data, or private correspondence.
Cookies
We set no cookies of our own. The only third-party technology on the forms is Cloudflare Turnstile's security check.
Analytics
We plan to measure which pages readers use so we can prioritise research. Until that system is chosen and described here, we run no analytics beyond basic server logs held by our hosting provider.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of your data, for a mistake to be corrected, for data to be deleted, or to object to how we use it. Write via the contact page and we aim to reply within five working days. If you remain unhappy, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
