Plumbear in short
Plumbear is a Ketley-based sole trader run by Colin Green, offering water leak detection as a named skill among plumbing services on a Checkatrade profile held for over a year. There is no website beyond the profile and the Google listing. The trade record names leak detection alone, and bookings run through the Checkatrade profile or the listing number across Telford.
Customers rate Plumbear at 4.8 from 28 Google reviews, backed by a deeper Checkatrade record where leak fixes are described as done neatly. This review reads the two sources together as a solid record for a one-person outfit. A second source is rare at this end of the table, and the two records point the same way.
What counts against it is thinness: no website, no published prices and no insurance cover on record. Our verdict is that Plumbear suits a straightforward leak from a sole trader with two review sources behind him.
That makes Plumbear the message-and-book choice, a sole trader whose reviews across both profiles do the talking. Thin paperwork is the honest trade-off, and the price agreement by message thread is where certainty comes from. The Checkatrade tenure, held for well over a year, gives the one-person outfit a welcome paper trail. Named leak detection as a skill and neatly described fixes fit straightforward, visible leaks.
Our verdict
Our verdict: Plumbear suits you if you want leak or plumbing work from a sole trader whose review record runs to 99 Checkatrade ratings [1]. The profile is thin on paperwork and pricing. That thinness is what counts against it here.

Questions about Plumbear
Is Plumbear any good?
Good for straightforward leaks: eighth in our Telford leak detection table with 4.8 on Google from 28 reviews plus a deeper Checkatrade record. Paperwork and pricing are thin. Read both profiles, then agree the price by message before work starts.
Is Plumbear on a trade register?
Checkatrade membership is stated on its profile, held for over a year. No Gas Safe or WaterSafe listing could be sourced, and no gas work is shown. Ask about cover and price in the same message you confirm the booking.
What does Plumbear charge?
No prices, call-out terms or VAT position appear on the profile or listing. Describe the leak and agree the full figure by message before work starts, including parts, labour and the call-out position. Keep the message thread for your records.
Where does Plumbear work?
A Ketley-based sole trader working across Telford, booked through the Checkatrade profile or the Google listing number. Leak detection and plumbing are the offer. Send your postcode with the job details to confirm you are covered, and keep the reply with your price agreement.
How is Plumbear ranked?
It ranks eighth of the ten leak detection specialists in our September round, the pick for a Checkatrade-listed sole trader. Telford Plumbers sits just above on site detail. Read the full review and both profiles first, then agree your price by message.
Which areas does Plumbear cover and how do I get a quote?
Plumbear is a Ketley-based sole trader working across Telford, booked through the Checkatrade profile or the listing number. Send the postcode with photos by message and agree the full figure the same way, since no prices or call-out terms are published. The reply should cover parts, labour and the call-out position. Keep the thread for your records.
What do customers say about Plumbear?
Two sources tell the same story: a high-fours average from a smaller Google base, backed by a deeper Checkatrade record where leak fixes are described as done neatly. That agreement is rare at this end of the table. Read both profiles, since the Checkatrade comments carry detail the headline figures cannot.
How does Plumbear compare with the other firms in the round?
It sits eighth, behind Telford Plumbers on site detail and ahead of Bryn Roberts on dual-source reviews. For a straightforward leak from a sole trader it is the closer match; for the deepest review bank, the trader below leads. Two agreeing sources are what set it apart. The Ketley base keeps travel short across Telford.
